Preferred To Unefoisdanmavie

One of two mares in a tough field of horses and geldings, Unefoisdansmavie showed the boys how it’s done Monday at The Meadows when she kicked by Big And Little late to capture the $20,000 Preferred Handicap Trot.

Unefoisdansmavie zipped out for the early lead for Dave Palone but was content to sit in the pocket when Big And Little quarter-poled to the front. The six-year-old daughter of Revenue S-Peace To The World shot the Lightning Lane to score in 1:54.1, edging Big And Little by a nose. Trotslikethewind, the field’s other mare, rallied for show.

Burke Racing Stable LLC, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Jack Piatt III own Unefoisdansmavie, who now boasts $299,099 in career earnings.

Elsewhere on the card, No Doze matched the track record for older geldings when he took a conditioned trot in 1:52.4 for Brett Miller and trainer Miles Wollam, who owns the seven-year-old son of Striking Sahbra-Annandale with Renna Wollam. Miller drove five winners and Aaron Merriman three on the 15-race card.

On Tuesday at 12:30 p.m., The Meadows will draw post positions for Saturday’s $500,000 (est.) final of the Delvin Miller Adios. The draw and the 15-race card that follows will be covered by Meadows Live!
