On Saturday, July 25, Hanover Raceway will be the scene of four eliminations for the eighth annual Dream of
Glory Stakes. The $100,000 guaranteed final for the three-year-old trotters will be contested Saturday, August 1.
The elims have been carded as Races 2, 4, 6 and 8 on the 11-dash program which gets underway with a 7:15 p.m. first-race post time. The top two finishers from each elim will gain entrance to the final. The elims have attracted a total of 27 horses.
The John Bax-trained Angus Hall gelding Agusto (PP4, S. Byron, 2-1) has been in stalled as the early favourite in the opening elim, which will showcase a field of seven.
Trainer Torgeir Hagmann will be piloting his Kadabra charge Magic Spice (PP6, T. Hagmann, 2-1) from the outside starting spot in the second elim, and the duo has been given the nod by the morning line oddsmaker.
The Ron O'Neill-trained Roadshow Hall gelding Lukas Rossi (PP1, R. Fritz, 2-1) has been given the early respect for the third elim, while the John Ciarpelli-trained Mr Lavec colt Hitithard (PP6, T. Henry, 2-1) is favoured early for the fourth elim.
