With a win at Yonkers Raceway on Friday (July 20), Rene Allard has joined some exclusive company among trainers with 4,000 career victories.
The milestone was reached early in the Friday night card as Allard's first contender of the evening was able to connect. Driver Dan Dube sat patiently in the pocket behind Ardie B Speed in the third race, popped the pocket turning for home and cruised to a comfortable win in 1:53.4 for the victory.
A Quebec native who now resides in Matamoras, Pennsylvania, Allard is just the sixth participant in harness racing history with 4,000 training wins. Allard joins Ron Burke, Bob McIntosh, Virgil Morgan Jr., Richard Moreau and Erv Miller in the 4,000 win club.
The win was the 200th of the season for Allard, giving him 200 or more training victories for ten consecutive years.
