Betting Line's Brother Showing Speed

The two-year-old brother to 2016 O'Brien Award-winning Horse of the Year Betting Line has made just two public appearances, but like his world champion sibling he's showing the ability to hit the wire first.

Freshman pacing colt Dramatic Point was out in qualifying action on Friday morning at Mohawk Racetrack. An off-the-pace winner last week in 1:57.1, driver Jody Jamieson employed similar tactics this week and settled Dramatic Point away mid-pack for the first half of the mile. Starting a first-over attack just past the half, Dramatic Point advanced methodically but trailed the leader by more than seven lengths at the head of the stretch. With a :27 closing quarter punctuating his mile, Dramatic Point collared top-of-the-stretch leader Windsun Silver (Billy Davis Jr.) in the final strides to win by a head in 1:56.

A $260,000 Harrisburg yearling sale purchase, Dramatic Point (Somebeachsomewhere - Heathers Western) is trained by Scott Horner, who co-owns with Mississauga's Peter Milligan.
