Eliminations for the Manitoba Standardbred Sires & Breeders Association (MSSBA) Futurity and a track record performance highlighted this weekend's harness racing programs at Glenboro Fair.

The $4,603 eliminations were contested on Saturday with Whats Divine, Home Matter, and Elska Min coming away with wins.

Making just his third career start, three-year-old Whats Divine earned his first victory in 2:03.2, prevailing by a head over filly Broadway Pebbles after Reys N A Champ broke stride on top and caused interference. Heartland Slushie finished third. The homebred Whatayasay-Divine Design colt is owned by trainer/driver Dean Rey and Michelle Mowat.

Trained and driven by Roland Rey, Home Matters pulled the pocket on Sayitlikeyoumeanit and went by for the two and three-quarter length victory in 2:03.3. Filly Cally N Jack finished third. Justin Rey owns the three-year-old Another Matter-Home On The Range colt, who also broke his maiden in his third lifetime start.

Elska Min was a wire-to-wire winner in the fastest elimination, clocked in 2:01.3. Only Hope followed one length behind while filly Western Magpie finished six lengths back in third. Trainer/driver Richard Remillard co-owns the three-year-old Armbro Baylor-Workin Lady gelding with Valerie Emerson. Elska Min is now two-for-three in his career, with his other win earned in a division of the Golden Boy Stake last weekend.

Caress Of Steel obliterated the track record for aged pacing geldings on Sunday afternoon as he blazed to a 1:54.1 triumph in the $1,500 Class A Handicap Pace. The former record of 1:58 was held by Trulyatyrant. Caress Of Steel earned his fifth straight victory and third during the Manitoba Great Western Fair Circuit for owner Trevor Williams. Don Howlett drove the six-year-old son of Ludwigpanbeethoven, who romped to a 20-1/4 length victory, for trainer Richard Rey.

Both Howlett and Richard Rey had four wins on the Sunday card, combining for three including victories with Big Bliss and Dancing Terror, who are undefeated this year for the Williams'.
