Upsets were prevalent during the Pick 5 sequence at Yonkers Raceway on Wednesday (July 20), leading to the wager not being hit.
Driver Pat Lachance scored a pair of upset victories with Mister Hat and Thundra, both at 14-1. Another surprise winner was 18-1 Look In My Eyes, piloted by Braxten Boyd.
As a result, on Thursday's (July 21) card there will be a carryover of $5,307.70 and a $15,000 guaranteed pool in the sequence.
The guarantee in the Pick 5 is being offered as part of the United States Trotting Association’s Strategic Wagering Program. Free past performances for the Pick 5 will be available on the TrackMaster website.
The Pick 5, which begins in Race 5, has a takeout rate of 20 per cent.
Thursday’s program gets underway at 6:55 p.m. and will also have a carryover of $1,329.41 in the Pick 6, starting in Race 3.
Live racing at Yonkers will continue through Saturday night this week, and then starting next week, the schedule will shift to a Monday-Tuesday-Thursday-Friday-Saturday slate.
