The first three races came and went without much fanfare on Thursday evening at Rideau Carleton Raceway, but from that point on it turned into the Brett MacDonald show.

MacDonald won five of the last seven races on the 10-race card, and it all started with Gunnar Boy (1:58.1) in Race 4.

He came right back to take Race 5 with Donna Party (1:55.4), and later returned to victory lane in Race 7 with Dads Filly (1:56.2). He clicked with I Choose You (1:56.3) in Race 8 and then capped off the card by taking the finale with Misstwinklinsjones (1:55).

Well on his way to a career year, MacDonald has now racked up 84 wins and purses in excess of $516,000 so far this season. His career best totals for wins and earnings were celebrated last year when he lit the lamp 114 times while potting purses in excess of $616,000.
