Clear Vision Done For The Year

In a report focusing on Foiled Again for Northfield Park's Battle of Lake Erie this Saturday, trainer Ron Burke revealed that his million-dollar earning Western Hanover gelding Clear Vision will not race again in 2012.

"Clear Vision suffered a slight suspensory pull," Burke was quoted as saying, adding that the career winner of 19 races is "an exceptional pacer" and that "he has been very good all year and I don't want him to aggravate the injury."

From 14 seasonal starts, Clear Vision has compiled a resume which reads three wins, one second-place finish and six thirds, good for over $247,000 in purse earnings. He also lowered his career mark this season to 1:48.2 over Tioga Downs' five-eighths-mile course during the $182,000 Bettors Delight.

In regard to Foiled Again, who has drawn Post 5 in the Battle of Lake Erie and has been installed as the 2-1 morning-line favourite, Burke lovingly said, "Foiled Again is a total freak."
