With sweltering temperatures along North America's eastern seaboard, many are probably considering hopping the fence and taking a dip in the neighbour's pool. Although most of us hold ourselves back, one particular racehorse just couldn't help himself
.
According to a report Tuesday, July 19 by WTSP.com, firefighters in Melbourne, Florida had to be called after a six-year-old stallion decided he was going to crash an afternoon pool party in the neighbourhood.
Although the residence is close to many equestrian estates, three teenaged boys were surprised when the brown horse got through the screened-in enclosure which surrounds the swimming area.
The horse waded in the pool for five hours before the rescue team took a section of the screen apart, sedated the horse, placed straps under his belly, and employed a fire engine tow truck to act as a crane in order to haul to equine intruder from the pool.
"Several attempts were made to have the horse come up on its own," Brevard County Fire-Rescue spokesman lieutenant Jeff Taylor was quoted as saying. "But they realized it wasn't going to cooperate."
