Saulsbrook Balance front-stepped his way to victory lane, earning a new lifetime mark in the process on Saturday in the $1,500 Open Trot at Charlottetown Driving Park

The son of Nikes Image-Animated Lady fired off the gate from Post 4 and established command of the eight-horse field, which included three early breakers - among them was favourite Diana Car (Marc Campbell). Saulsbrook Balance carved out fractions of :29, :59.3 and 1:30 en route to the four length victory in 2:00.1. Feel That Muscle (Earl Smith) finished second at odds of 18-1 just beating out pocket-sitter Napanee Seelster (Daniel MacDonald).
Saulsbrook Balance paid $7.20 to win for the second time in six 2011 outings. Trainer Cynthia MacDonald co-owns the six-year-old, who has won 31 races and $72,301 lifetime, with Tanya MacKinnon of Souris, P.E.I.
