Grandsons of the Cam Fella were victorious in their first lifetime starts at the Charlottetown Driving Park
on Thursday evening, and both of them hang their harness bags in the barn of trainer Dr. Ian Moore.
Wellthereyougo, a son of Camluck-Cheeky Hanover, and Malicious, a son of Bettors Delight-Silky, had little problem finding their way to victory lane over the half-mile oval, and that was good news for fans that like backing favourites.
Wellthereyougo, who was sent off as the 1-5 choice in his assignment, brushed to the top at the mid-way point and never looked back from that point on en route to a 1:59.1 score for Moore and partners R G McGroup Ltd. and Serge Savard. The $45,000 Harrisburg Yearling Sale purchase kicked home in :28.2 to seal the win.
Malicious, who also sold for $45,000 at last year’s Harrisburg Yearling Sale, overcame a tough trip to win in 1:57.2 for Moore and partners Serge Savard and R G McGroup Ltd. The colt, who was sent off as the 1-9 choice, finished off his foes with a :28.3 final frame.
