McCann Dogs Coming To Adrenaline!

Published: July 2, 2009 04:37 pm EDT

Adrenaline will present the Famous McCann Dog Show at Hiawatha Horse Park on August 22 and 23

. Taught by the McCann Professional Dog Trainers of Flamborough, Ont., these world champion canines will leap through hoops, race through tunnels jump over hurdles and test their balance on teeter totters. The dogs will showcase their talents in three daily shows.

Specifically, the animals will be participating in the dog sports known as Agility and Flyball. Agility competitions have the dogs jumping, climbing and crawling through a number of intricate and skill testing obstacles with the hope to get the fastest time. Flyball, meanwhile, works as a relay race where teams of four fly over hurdles in order to retrieve the tennis ball from one end and bring it back to the other. Competitors must take care not to dislodge obstacles -- knocking off bars or toppling hurdles results in the addition of penalty minutes to their finishing times. "The dogs get really enthused over the agility and flyball trials," says Mark Hetherman, Adrenaline Festival Manager. “The courses offer many challenges, but also lots of fun for the whole family."

The McCanns will showcase a wide variety of breeds from giant great Danes to toy sized papillions. There is even a Vietnamese pot bellied pig!

As a result of their talent and athleticism these animal entertainers are extremely sought after and have performed at such venues as the Calgary Stampede, the Royal Winter Fair, the Toronto Sportsmen’s Show and several professional sports games.

This event is fun for all ages. Most importantly, it’s free with your festival admission ticket. Come to Adrenaline to enjoy the dog days of summer with your family and friends and don’t miss out on the incredible flips and tricks of these remarkable animals.
