Sticking his nose in the front from the start, Lisburn saw no challenges on his way to a scorching victory in the Saturday evening (July 18) feature at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
In line to trainer Kenny Arsenault in the $2,900 featured pace, Lisburn was launched to the lead and sauntered through fractions of :29.1 and :57.1 before cranking up the tempo to hit three-quarters in 1:25.3. Lisburn then closed his five-length victory in 1:53.4 for one of the fastest miles ever seen in July in the history of the half-mile capital oval. Kevin Harvey and Rudge Racing hold the ownership papers on the winning five-year-old son of Rock N Roll Heaven. Soccer Hanover was second while JK Express was third.
Rockin Indy teamed up with McGuigan to win the $2,500 back-up pace with a speed score in 1:56.4 over Nogreatmischief and Harbourlite Jerry. Troy Murray of Clyde River owns and trains Rockin Indy, who celebrated his 27th win.
A pair of veterans prevailed in deep stretch for the biggest upset of the night in Race 5 as 10-year-old Oh To Be Me and 60-year-old owner-trainer-driver Gary Chappell edged by in the final strides to win at 12-1 odds. Lincoln Seelster finished second at 20-1 odds with Santanna Sass third to complete the $1,005.60 triactor ticket.
