The second of three shows in the Standardbred Showcase’s Ontario Standardbred Show Series was held at the Ancaster Fairgrounds this past weekend.
Competitors of all ages participated to show off their Standardbreds’ post-racing talent in the show ring. Various classes highlighted their skills and allow competitors the ability to pick and choose or try something new.
Classes included English and Western In-Hand, Pleasure, Equitation and Dressage, Jumping, Mounted Obstacle, Speed events and Driving classes. This is a great place to bring that Standardbred that is standing in your field, one that has recently retired, or even one that is racing and needs a little change of pace for a bit.
The series’ next event will be its two-day show held at the Ridgetown Fairgrounds on August 17 and 18. Camping is available on site and hotels are nearby.
Series organizers would like to thank everyone that made it out to the show and everyone who supports the series. The series would like to send a special ‘thank you’ to its sponsors, Bernadette Rogers, Fire Fly Stables, Glengate Farms, Hidden Haven Equine Service, Kawartha Closets and Shelves Inc., OHHA, Ontario Racing, OSAS, SBOA and Spencer Creek Animal Hospital.
