Andy Sardella trainee The Royal Poze scored in the $9,000 featured trot at Saratoga Casino Hotel on Wednesday, July 17.

Sent the 9-5 second choice, the four-year-old son of Rc Royalty took control from favourite Pappagiorgio moving to the quarter and later held off challenges from Squirely Girly to the outside and Pappagiorgio through the open stretch. Squirely Girly took second while Pappagiorgio finished third.

The victory was the fifth in ten starts this year for The Royal Poze, who paid $5.60 to win and led an exacta and triple that returned $78 and $270, respectively.

Live racing resumes on Friday evening, July 19 at Saratoga with a 7:05 p.m. first post.
