According to Red Shores Racing Experience Manager Brett Revington, the pari-mutuel aspect of the 2012 Lobster Carnival meet at Summerside Raceway has been a resounding success, with the handle on every live program of racing having seen an increase.
A report by The Journal Pioneer has cited Revington as saying that the total handle for this year's Lobster Carnival meet was $227,760, up $55,670 from last year's total of $172,090.
Among other aspects, Revington cited good weather, strong fields, and effective marketing and promotions as key elements in bumping the handle up from 2011 totals.
