Despite being the only European horse in tomorrow night's single $50,000 Maple Leaf Trot elimination at Mohawk Racetrack, the Swedish invader Reven D'Amour appears to like his new surroundings
.
The son of Revenue S-Meloday D'Amour arrived at Mohawk Racetrack late Tuesday night and went a work mile yesterday morning. According to driver Fredrik Larrson, the five-year-old likes it here in Canada.
“He trained yesterday at Mohawk Racetrack and really likes the track surface. We will just add a little more grab to his front shoes. Other than that, we won’t be making any equipment changes,” Larsson told WEG’s media department.
Larsson is fully aware that Reven D'Amour will have to overcome Post 9 and defeat three horses to enter the $772,000 final next Saturday.
“We are racing against some very good horses and we have a bad number. I know I have a good horse so we will try to do our best,” Larsson commented.
Larsson’s brother Henrik trains the $350,000 earner, who has won his two previous starts for owner Stall Harriet of Kungsangen, Sweden.
The lone Maple Leaf Trot elim is set for Race 5 (8:54 p.m. post time).
