JJ Scarlett was up against the clock as she demolished her Friday evening foes in track record fashion in a $15,620 Atlantic Sires Stakes A division for three-year-old pacing fillies at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway during Governor’s Plate Week racing.

Redmond Doucet supplied the winning steer as the daughter of Tobago Cays was sent forward from post five and led through splits of :28, :56.2 and 1:24.4 before closing out the mile in 1:54.4 to erase the former 1:55.1 three-year-old pacing filly track record formerly held by Medici Hanover and Elm Grove Inarush. Walter Walker trains JJ Scarlett for owner Wwggmacinnismackinnon Stable of Inverness, N.S. Her winning margin was 11-1/2 lengths. Orrsterror (Gilles Barrieau) finished second ahead of Ultimate Long Shot (David Dowling) in the record mile.

Therealprincess kept her perfect record intact in the other $15,620 A division. The Source Of Pride filly was on top at every call, winning in 1:56.1 and improving her seasonal record to five-for-five for driver Corey MacPherson, trainer and co-owner Eddy Doucette and partners Grant Mann, Gordon MacLeod and Blaine Thibeau. Woodmere Jazz (Barrieau) came first-over to finish second, 1-1/2 lengths behind the winner, with Cougar On A Terr (Danny Gillis) third.

The $3,000 B divisions for sophomore fillies were won by T Ls Betty (Adam Merner) and Kinda Like Royalty (Walter Cheverie), both in 1:58.3.

Another B division of fillies in Race 4 was declared a No Contest as JJ Linda made a break in the first turn and unseated driver Cheverie. The filly was captured with no injuries while Cheverie was responsive with the medical team but was taken by ambulance to the Prince County Hospital for further evaluation.

The Jeff Holmes stable was in top form with a pair of winners on the evening. Sailor Blue captured the $3,000 Andrew Perry Invitational Trot in 1:59 for driver Ken Murphy, trainer Holmes and owners Cindy and Ambyr MacDonald and Yossi Martonovich. The other Holmes win was with Burn Out Hanover (Brady Sweet) in a 1:57 victory in the $3,300 Preferred 2 Pace.

Driver Marc Campbell scored a driving triple winning with The Lady Sheriff (1:58.2) from his own barn, Mrs Dragonfire (1:58) for Reg Ferguson while La Vie En Rose (1:57.4) won the finale for trainer Lloyd Hannah.
