Trained, driven and owned by Dean Rey, Dontchase Justpace set fractions of :30.1, 1:01.3 and 1:32.1 en route to a three-length victory in 2:03.2. The Charms Shark-Major Story filly now has two wins from five career starts.
Release The Baby improved her position in the stretch to take second-place ahead of Make A Mark, who had tracked her winning stablemate in the pocket throughout with Marc Fillion aboard.
This week's Open events went to repeat winners Full Moon Dodger in 2:01 with Fillion in the bike for trainer Trevor Williams and co-owner Michael Williams and David Mutch's mare Cordees Fantasy in 2:02.2 for the driver-trainer team of Darryl and Sherri Mason.
