Officials with Sarnia, Ontario's Hiawatha Horse Park have released some of the details surrounding its season-opening program of live harness racing, which is scheduled for this coming Saturday (July 20).
First-race post time this Saturday will be 6:30pm. The first draw will be Tuesday, July 16. Phone lines will be open for entries at 9:00 a.m. and will close at 11:00 a.m. Track officials have asks those looking to enter their horses to call 519-542-1697.
Draws will take place on Tuesday for Saturday cards, and on Saturdays for Tuesday cards. Driver changes will be due the night of the draws between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Hiawatha was assigned 20 live race dates and will race twice weekly (Tuesdays and Saturdays) until the end of September. To view a copy of Hiawatha's race-date calendar, click here.
Officials with Hiawatha also released a brief statement in regard to changes to its clubhouse for the track's race season. The statement explained that, "Due to the timing and smaller schedule this year, the Clubhouse will be first-come, first-served for tables and will not be serviced by staff. Food/beverages can be purchased from the Reflections lounge or Mezz and brought into the clubhouse by the patrons.'
Officials with the track have stated that more information regarding promotions and events this summer will be released in the coming weeks.
