Six pacers went postward in Sunday’s featured $6,600 Preferred Pace at Dresden Raceway, and Roman Rocks used an impressive late kick to pull off a 10-1 upset in 1:57.
Mark Pezzarello got away fourth Roman Rocks while Just Crowned laid down fractions of :29.2 and :59.2 before coming under pressure from Slots Of Fun. Roman Rocks tipped out and caught second-over cover, and he tracked the battling leaders to the three-quarter pole in 1:28. Roman Rocks dug in down the lane and used a :28.3 final frame to win by a neck over Slots Of Fun and race favourite Just Crowned.
Marty Adler of Amherstburg, ON owns and trains the seven-year-old son of No Pan Intended-Janie Mcpockets, who improved his 2012 record to 3-3-3 in 14 starts this season. The 10-time winner is just shy of $150,000 in lifetime earnings.
