“Some of the guys I’ll be driving against are sharp; they get more drives in one day than I get in a week. Going against them is going to be fun though.”

Ryan Ellis has provided comments to the Truro Daily News regarding the 2014 National Driving Championship, which he will be participating in on August 26 at Red Shores’ Summerside Raceway on Prince Edward Island.

Ellis, 34, advanced to the 2014 NDC after finishing second to Marc Campbell in the Atlantic Regional Driving Championship on June 28 at Summerside. The winner of the NDC will represent Canada on the world driving stage in Australia in 2015.

In speaking about the upcoming NDC, Ellis told the Truro Daily News “It’s pretty exciting. There will be some drivers I never drove against before. We get horses through a random draw so a lot is down to the luck of the draw.”

The resident of Brookfield, NS has been a force to be reckoned with in his 106 starts this season, as he has steered his mounts to 28 wins. He currently holds a universal driving rating of .411.

The report also reveals something else about Ellis – that he has kickboxed at the national level in the past.
