Fresh off a victory last week in which he got his recognizable nose to the wire first in the nick of time, Allbentouttashape stepped up into the top $1,525 Winners Over class at Exhibition Park Raceway and romped to a three and a half length victory.
Driver Michel Barrieau sent the Quick Comeback gelding to the lead from post four in Saturday's feature race and turned back a first over challenge from Man In Pink and Lonny Stokes as he raced past fractions of :29.1, :59.2 and 1:29.3 en route to the 2:00.2 triumph. After Lunch Larry, driven by Gord Hennessey, edged out last week's winners Eloquent Desire and Mark Haig for runner-up honours.
Allbentouttashape has now earned eight top three finishes in 10 starts during his five-year-old campaign including four wins. Saturday's victory was his 31st lifetime and bumped his bankroll to $147,319 for trainer Sean Dooley and his partners from the Dooley Boys Racing Stable of Halifax, N.S.
The winning 2-1 second choice returned $6.40 to his backers.
