Three straight wins for any driver is mighty fine and four-in-a-row is impressive, but five straight wins is worthy of a standing ovation

.

Fans at Fredericton Raceway should have been on there feet at least to applaud driver Gilles Barrieau’s five consecutive victories to start Thursday’s 11-race program.

Barrieau put on the clinic in Races 1-5 thanks to wins with Basin View Brad (2:02.2), CH Pair O Dice (2:03.1), Iwish Iwish (2:00.4), Kendal Delta (1:59.1) and Provoke Me (2:00.4) before nailing his sixth win of the night in Race 10 aboard Found Wanting.

From 166 driving assignments Barrieau has hit the board in more than half of his starts thanks to his 45-35-17 record. Those numbers have helped the career winner of $6 million put together an ultra-impressive UDR that currently stands at .422.
