Surrealist rallied home off cover to win the top class at Inverness Raceway on Wednesday evening (July 13).

Driver Colin Kelly moved the favoured Surrealist second over behind the parked out Havana Dream in the $900 Winners Over Pace and then fanned three-wide down the backstretch in pursuit of the pacesetting Danny William. Surrealist drew clear into the stretch and extended his leading margin to more than four lengths in a :27.3 final quarter to stop the clock in a season's-best 1:56.4. Trailing tier starter Schooner defeated Danny William in a tight finish for the runner-up honours.

Surrealist has now won three of his last five starts at Inverness for owner Dana Getto of New Waterford, N.S. Wednesday's win was the 10-year-old Modern Art gelding's first victory racing from the Richard Mullins stable.

Surrealist's victory in the featured finale completed a driving hat-trick on the eight-race card for Kelly and a training double for Mullins.
