A pair of Tony Alagna-trained fillies accounted for victories in half of the four opening leg divisions of the New Jersey Sire Stakes for two-year-old pacers on Friday, July 13 at Meadowlands Racetrack.

In the $24,500 fifth race, Alagna sent out Acquavella (by Western Ideal) and she posted her first career victory in her second start with a length and a half tally over Miss Lauren (Cams Card Shark) and Hilarious Hayley (Rocknroll Hanover). Mike Lachance was at the lines for the 1:53.4 mile. The winner races for John Carver and Mel Hartman.
