Trotters Kashs Caviar and Hartmann shared the spotlight at Grand River Raceway on Friday night with wire-to-wire victories, both from post four, in a pair of $7,000 Preferred 3 events.

Kashs Caviar cruised to a 1:58.2 victory in the fourth race division, providing Grand River's leading reinsman Trevor Henry with the first half of a driving double. The favourite paid $3.30 to win. Falcor Bluestone (Scott Coulter) closed from the backfield to edge out pocket-sitter Just One Day (Ryan Holliday) for the runner-up honours one length behind. Trainer Craig Yates of Paris, Ont. shares ownership of the seven-year-old SJs Caviar gelding with Marilyn Horner of Aurora, Ont.

After sweeping the early Daily Double, driver Scott Coulter capped off a three win night as he steered Hartmann to a 1:59.3 triumph in the finale for trainer/owner Isabelle Darveau of Cambridge, Ont. The nine-year-old Like A Prayer gelding returned $15.50 to win as the 6-1 third choice in the field of nine. Stolen Goods (Paul MacKenzie) rallied home to finish second over the forwardly placed Manny Ribera (Tyler Borth).
