Stepping up in class off a winning effort from one week ago, Lady N Paradise ($31.20) tackled the top Truro pacers in the featured $1,675 Winner Over on Friday, July 10.
Lady N Paradise followed in the three-hole behind Bettors Pride and Distinctiv Rusty, who set panels of :27.4, :57 and 1:26.3. While the outer flow developed and stacked three-wide to her outside, Lady N Paradise shot through the passing lane in :28.4 to pull off the 14-1 upset. She prevailed by three-quarters of a length over the front-runners in a new lifetime mark of 1:56 flat.
Lady N Paradise is driven by Craig Carey and trained by Dave Carey, who both share ownership with Ron Garland. The homebred daughter of Western Paradise out of Lady McCardle has earned two wins from six starts during her four-year-old campaign. The victory was her ninth lifetime.
The favoured Yankee Osborne broke stride on the first turn and was never in contention.
