Parked three-wide through a gruelling :27.1 opening quarter, Tees Sweet Ryde nevertheless was much the best as she jogged to a 1:53.4 victory in Wednesday’s (July 10) feature at The Meadows, an $11,800 featured conditioned pace for fillies and mares.
Making her first start at The Meadows following her recent purchase by Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC, Tees Sweet Ryde easily withstood the first-over challenge of Sewonandsewforth and defeated her by three lengths. McCheetah finished third. Dave Palone piloted the three-year-old daughter of Sweet Lou and Ryder Blue Chip, who had been campaigning at Hoosier Park, for trainer Ron Burke.
Tees Sweet Ryde overcame post 9 and sustained pressure in Wednesday's feature at The Meadows.
Tony Hall collected four wins on the 13-race card, and Aaron Merriman tallied three.
Live racing at The Meadows resumes Saturday (July 13), when the program features a pair of carryovers: $916.43 in the Pick 5 (races two through six) and $2,345.80 in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 1:05 p.m.
