Narragansett and driver Jason Hughes rallied late to win the Thursday night feature at Red Shores at the Charlottetown Driving Park in 1:58.1.
Narragansett defeated fraction-setting Pinner, who was second, and Shock The Rock, who wound up third. Foxyhall Racing stable own Narragansett. It was a big for Hughes as the Stratford native drove three winners on the program.
Lyrical Lindy pulled off a shocker in the Open Trot for driver Jason Hughes and new trainer Tyler Desroches. The mare picked her second win of the season for owner Bill Andrew, Calgary, Alberta. The time of the mile was 2:00.3.
Newcomer Song Dream, under the command of Vaughn Doyle, made his first trip around the legendary oval a winning one when scored in the back-up trot division in 2:02.2. The trotter is trained by Doyle for owner Mark Ramsey of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.
