Swiftys First Star may be lazy on the farm, but the three-year-old As Promised gelding lives up to his name when it comes time to hit the racetrack.
An article in today’s Daily Herald Tribune, penned by Sugar Doyle, highlights Swiftys First Star - the only harness horse to ever to pace a final quarter in 27 seconds at Evergreen Park – after his 1:58.3 victory in an Alberta Plainsman division on July 5.
“‘Swifty’ was lazy coming back this year. The best quarter I could get out of him at the farm track was 31 seconds,” said trainer Rob Sabourin Jr. “I was all out going a mile in 2:05.”
