Rusty Riley took the bulk of the betting support in Friday’s $2,500 feature race at Truro Raceway, but when he faltered it left the door wide open for Thunder Alley to strike.

It wasn’t exactly a comfortable trip for Thunder Alley, as the gelding spent the entire mile on the outside looking in for driver Andrew Campbell.

Good Friday Three shot to the top from Post 2 and had the field chasing him through fractions of :28.2, :58 and 1:27, but he folded up in the late going.  Thunder Alley, in the meantime, was parked every step of the way before using a closing quarter clocked in :30 to win by two lengths over Well Did in 1:57.  Dont Ask Logan took home third prize in the six-horse affair.

Rick Beaumont trains the six-year-old son of Mystery Chase-The Three Of Us for Aurolie Beaumont of Judique, N.S.  The 15-time winner has manufactured a 2-1-3 record from six starts this season.  He’s closing in on $70,000 in career earnings.
