Hambletonian prospect Charlie De Vie delivered an impressive performance on a card that showcased young trotting and pacing talent Friday night at the Meadowlands Racetrack

Driven by Tim Tetrick, Charlie De Vie [$6.80] crushed the field in the $25,000 open trot for three-year-olds. He took command before the half and cruised untested to a 3-3/4 length triumph over Fawkes in 1:54.2. The favourite Manofmanymissions went off stride approaching the final turn and finished last.

Trainer Chris Ryder is pointing the son of Yankee Glide-Knickers Hanover for harness racing's greatest prize, the $1.5 million Hambletonian, on Saturday, August 6 at the Meadowlands. Charlie De Vie was a $90,000 yearling purchase at the Standarbred Horse Sale in Harrisburg, PA by Joie De Vie Farm.

Blomkvist [$3.60] romped to a 10-length victory in one of two New Jersey Sire Stakes divisions for two-year-old colt and gelding trotters. The son of Muscles Yankee-Mallelujah cruised in 1:56.1 with Ron Pierce at the lines. The Jimmy Takter trainee is being pointed toward the $500,000 Peter Haughton Memorial on Saturday, August 6. Blomkvist was a $50,000 yearling purchase at the Lexington-Selected Sale by Takter's wife, Christina, and partners John Fielding, Jim Fielding and Falkbolagen Ab.

Vic Smith rallied to victory in 1:57.3 for the team of Andy and Julie Miller in the first NJSS for trotting colts, which was contested as a non-wagering event prior to the start of the card. The Millers co-own the son of Yankee Glide-PJ Naomi with Baron Racing Stable. Vic Smith was a $30,000 yearling purchase at Lexington.

Three divisions of the NJSS for two-year-old filly pacers were also contested on the Friday card. Notreadytobenice [$3.60] breezed to a 1:55.1 clocking in the first division for driver Yannick Gingras and trainer Joe Holloway. The daughter of Western Ideal-Dont You Smile was a $65,000 yearling purchase at Lexington. She is owned by Val D'or Farms, Lst Stables, William De Van, Jr. and Dreamland Farms

Rockaround Sue [$4.20] rolled to a 1:54 mile on the lead under the guidance of Brian Sears in the second division. Tony Alagna trains and co-owns the daughter of Rocknroll Hanover-Promysquous Lady with the Uncirculated Stable and Alan Alber. She was a $22,000 yearling purchase at Harrisburg.

Ive Got A Feeling [$5.40] pounced off a perfect pocket trip to win the third division in 1:54.2 in rein to Sears. W Springtime Stable and Shannon Brott bred and own the daughter of Rocknroll Hanover-Yankee Indy. Mark Harder trains I've Got A Feeling.
