Chevron Hanover Upsets In KD Preferred

It was upset city in Tuesday’s marquee event – the $11,000 Preferred – at Kawartha Downs thanks in part to an overpowering performance by the Shaws Creek Stable’s Chevron Hanover

The six-year-old son of Astreos – Cheyanna Mae was sent off as an 11-1 outsider, but it didn’t stop him from drawing away to a three and a half-length decision in a career-best clocking of 1:52.4. The tandem of Zambucca Gass (23-1) and Blissed Out (3-5) dead-heated for the runner-up spot.

Chevron Hanover shrugged off a first-over journey to win for the sixth time in just 15 trips to the starting gate this season. The 17-time winner now boasts $175,016 in lifetime earnings.
