Owner-trainer-driver Keith Clark circled the Century Downs course with 7-1 shot Roaring Home, winning the $45,700 Alberta Princess Stakes by four and a half lengths in 1:55.3.

Roaring Home took control from post 3 through a :29 opening quarter while My Day sat the pocket. Unchallenged through a :58.3 half, the backfield began to move wide in pursuit of Roaring Home, who expanded her lead on My Day to three lengths by three-quarters in 1:25.4.

Clark held a five-length advantage on My Day turning into the stretch. Race-favourite Custard Lite circled wide from third over and swept into second approaching the wire, finishing a length and a half in front of Bearcat Josi third.

A three-year-old filly by Mystery Chase out of the Dragon Again mare Rustys Puddin, Roaring Home, also owned by John Hind and Doris McDougall, won her first race in eight starts this season and her fifth in 18 overall, collecting $116,591 in earnings. She returned $17.30 to win.

In non-stakes action, Lydi Lula Belle emerged victorious from the $9,000 Fillies & Mares Open Pace for the second time in her last three starts.

Driver Paul Davies patiently paced in the pocket behind stablemate G Ts Jamie (driven by a returning Jim Marino) through fractions of :27.4 to the quarter and :58.2 to the half-mile point before the tempo picked up on the backside. Favoured American Passion (Brandon Campbell) was right-lined from third to take a shot at the leader, and she was on her way to the top as the third quarter was reached in 1:26.3. Davies slipped Lydi Lula Belle to the outer flow on Campbell's helmet, and through the stretch she pulled away for the 1:56.2 score. American Passion held second despite suffering broken equipment, while Outlaw Fireball closed well through the stretch to complete the triactor.

Owned by trainer Marino along with BC's J J J Stables, Lydi Lula Belle (Henry Clay - Lindas Conquest) notched her 16th career win and edged her career bankroll closer to six figures with the winner's share of the purse bringing her earnings to $96,560.
