Frisco Bay N (Downbytheseaside) won his fourth Open Pace of the season at Saratoga Casino Hotel when on Monday (June 8) afternoon the Jackie Greene trainee pulled off a bit of an upset.
Frisco Bay N blasted off the gate to leave from post four and got to the front with relative ease in a first quarter clocked in 27.3. The 9-1 shot rattled off a half in 56.4 before standing tall in three quarters of 1:24.4. Pocket-sitter Mr Mclaren N (Larry Stalbaum) displayed a surge in the stretch but wound up second-best to Frisco Bay N who stopped the timer in 1:52.4 for his fifth seasonal score and fourth in the local Open Pace. Mayweather Hanover (Wally Hennessey) rallied to be third.
The six-year-old was piloted to the win by Jimmy Devaux. Kellogg Racing Stable of Queensbury, NY owns the 15-time career winner who has banked $207,616 lifetime.
The card featured a six-pack in the bike for reinsman Aaron Byron who enjoyed his best day of the season piloting six winners on the fourteen-race program. Byron's victories came with Sounds Good ($3.02), A Good Quest ($6.88), Pickup Man Hanover ($20.48), Favorable Draw ($5.78), Heisman Player ($3.22) and Idealofaday ($4.82).
Live racing continues on Tuesday (June 9) at Saratoga with a matinee that begins at 12 p.m.
