Competitive is the name of the game in the Thursday evening finale at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The Super Hi-5 dash is the final race of the 12-dash card.

The race 12 finale carries a $2,300 purse with the Adam Merner-driven and Melissa Rennie-trained Woodmere Rollily guarding the cones for owners Marsha Knox, Cory Livingston and Steven MacDonald. The claiming daughter of Rollwithitharry moves up in the class into the $10,000 optional claiming ranks after knocking off her competitors last week in 1:57.2 as an optional $8,000 claimer in line to Corey MacPherson.

Premier Bettina has post two is the field with Damian MacLellan set to strut his rookie driving talent in the bike for conditioner Jennifer Doyle. The Betting Line four-year-old was racing among the Preferred ranks before starting her descent down the class ladder.

The morning line favourite is post four starter Ill Tell Me Ma for the combo of driver David Dowling and trainer Colin Johnson after losing a neck decision her last start in 1:56.1.

Other entries in the class include Better Than Men (to be driven by Jason Hughes), Killean Finale (Ken Murphy), Howmac Blaze (Corey MacPherson) and JM Sportsfan (Steven Shepherd).

Peter MacPhee sides with Ill Tell Me Ma in the Post Time Picks.

“Ill Tell Me Ma couldn’t be any closer to winning and if you need more proof take a look at the lines,” MacPhee said. “Draws the mid-pack and Dowling gets along well with her so they could close the program with a win.”

A full-field of eight trotters go toe-to-toe in the race eighth Open Trot for a $2,800 pot. Freddie is the probable favourite from post six after beating this class last week for trainer/driver Marc Campbell and owner Three Wisemen Stable of Kingston, P.E.I. Sailor Blue (Murphy) was a good second last week in her first start in the Jeff Holmes barn and gets post four Thursday while perennial top trotter Daisy River (Hughes) leaves off the rail.

The evening featured $3,200 pace is in race 11 with Dreamfair Zenfire the favourite in the six-horse field for trainer/driver Campbell. Her top opponents include Ladylike (Gilles Barrieau) and Tobins Brownie (Dowling).

First-race post time is 6:30 p.m. Catch all the action live at the track or tune into the online broadcast at Redshores.ca with wagering available online at HPIBet.com.
