All Turain used different tactics, but the results were the same. The Trevor Hicken trainee, under the command of Brodie MacPhee, came off the pace to catch fraction-setter Touch Of Lightning in deep stretch to notch his 10th victory in a row in the Saturday feature at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

All Turain earned his third win this year in the $2,400 Preferred Pace. The time of the mile was 1:58.

Following All Turain and Touch Of Lightning under the wire were Judge Jon in third with Perfect Escape fourth. Track announcer Vance Cameron laid out his top selections in the pre-race show going with the 6-2-4-3 combination, nailing the exactor, triactor and even the superfecta with his picks.

MacPhee also scored with Machinthesand to record the fastest mile of the night of 1:56 in the $2,100 Preferred 2 for trainer Mark Bradley and his owners Noonan Holdings Ltd. -- Russell and Karen Noonan of Middleton, P.E.I.

Bradley was in the driver’s seat aboard 17-1 longshot Presto Pegasus when they captured the $1,850 Open Trot in 2:01.3. The Brian Andrew-trained trotter is owned by William Andrew of Calgary, Alta. and Rachel Andrew of Milton Station, P.E.I. Caliban Hanover finished second, but was placed sixth for interference on favourite Abundaspin in the first turn. Pleasure Girls inherited second while Zip The Lip was moved up to third to complete the triactor.

Jason Hughes and Marc Campbell recorded driving doubles on the 12-dash card.
