Arty Foster Jr.'s Northern Express, driven by Russell Foster, was a 1:55.2 winner in the $20,000 Open Trot on Wednesday, June 7 at Harrington Raceway.
Despite post position eight, the seven-year-old Muscle Massive gelding was able to make the lead near the opening quarter-mile and never relented, with a narrow win over Manatlas and Swan Flyer.
Trained by his owner, Northern Express earned his fourth win of the year in 18 starts and sealed his second straight season with earnings in excess of $100,000.
The win was one of two for driver Foster, who is just one victory shy of 2,000 lifetime.
Pat Berry had three wins on the card.
Live harness racing will continue on a Monday through Wednesday schedule with Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) stakes action for three-year-olds starting next week. Post time is 4:30 p.m.
