Two-time O’Brien Award winner Intimidate captured Tuesday’s $34,000 Preferred Trot at Mohawk Racetrack, and in doing so he ended a losing streak that dated back to November 29, 2014.

The classy Intimidate, who was sent off as the even-money favourite in the seven-horse affair, got away fourth for Sylvain Filion while Olympic Son fired to the front and chopped out panels of :28.2 and :56.3 before being overtaken by Intimidate at the three-quarter pole in 1:26. Intimidate used a :29.2 closing quarter to win by three-quarters of a length over Olympic Son in 1:55.2. Third prize went to Whiskey Tax.

Luc Blais trains the seven-year-old son of Justice Hall-Fabulous Tag for Quebec partners Determination of Montreal and Judith Farrow of Hemmingford. The homebred notched the 27th win of his career while pushing his lifetime earnings to $1,365,539.
