Red Shores' publicity department has sent out preview notices in advance of its Saturday's card of live harness racing at the Charlottetown Driving Park and Sunday's live program at Summerside Raceway.
McApulco Meets Proven Lover In Saturday Feature
Invitational heavyweights will go head to head Saturday at the Charlottetown Driving Park. First-race post time for Saturday's card at the CDP is 6:00 p.m.
McApulco, owned by Patrick Morris of Charlottetown, will take on Proven Lover (to be driven by Norris Rogers) in the 11th race preferred match-up. McApulco, who finished second to Pang Shui last week in the mud in 1:57.4, will get the services of Walter Cheverie from Post 4.
Touch of Lightning had some luck at the draw and moves inside to Post 2 for driver Earl Smith. The former stakes star is 7-2 on the morning line as the classifiers third choice. The field also includes Windemere Express, Roscoes Child, Pembroke Fella, All Turain and Outlawpositivcharg.
The card will also showcase the Charlottetown Pony Club Pace (Race 5) with Tim McKinnon’s trainee Oppies Lifes Line as the top choice next to Evalina and R Es Sobrina.

Lucky Encounter, Capitalism Headline Summerside Field; Easter Seals Pace Also On The Card
The stage is set for a big showdown Sunday at Summerside when speed stars Lucky Encounter, who finished second in the fastest qualifier ever paced at the Prince County oval, goes up against Capitalism and driver Jason Hughes.
First-race post time is 1:00 p.m., with the feature race going behind the gate for Race 11.
Alex Sobey gets the driving assignment from Foxyhall Racing stable of Summerside on Lucky Encounter, who finished sixth in his first start on PEI. The line-up also includes top guns like Chasin Racin, Lisfinny, Sparky Bayama and Rich Raider.
The afternoon program will also feature the Easter Seals Pace (Race 6) with Maverick Moment, Laughing Xample and Last Art On Deck listed as leading triactor candidates.
