Fast and fresh racehorses were the order of the day at the Monday, June 6 Preferred Equine Online Mixed Sale, with Yonkers and Meadowlands regular Demeter N leading the way with a purchase price of $88,000.
Demeter N, a winner of more than $256,000 who earned $118,000 last year, was consigned by Preferred Equine Online for Martin Budkey and was bought by Larry Stalbaum.
This, the company’s eighth online sale, posted gross receipts of $430,000 and an average of $26,875 for 16 of 20 catalogued horses sold.
Also selling well was the sleek and speedy Always B Miki four-year-old Texas Miki p,4,1:51-’22 ($78,526), a three-time winner this year who’s racing in the upper conditioned classes at
Other top sellers included the Muscle Hill four-year-old Nylander 4,1:52.2 ($111,528), who brought $60,000 after a series of last-minute bids. Winning out as the horse’s new owner was John Barnard, who took home three of this sale’s offerings.
