David Dowling sent Rockin Indy from the start and never looked back on his way to the winner’s circle in the Thursday evening feature event at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Owned and trained by Troy Murray of Clyde River, Rockin Indy left well from post 6 in the $2,400 featured pace and laid down splits of :28.2, :58.3 and 1:29 before closing out in 1:58.2 for a half-length victory. Likely To Win (Driven by Adam Merner) came up the inside to finish second while pocket-sitter Hes Marvalous (Myles Heffernan) was third.

A newcomer to the trot ranks captured the $2,400 featured Open Trot as Star Photo prevailed in 2:03.1 for driver Jason Hughes and trainer Kevin Gillis. The 10-year-old son of Classic Photo is now owned by Robi Hughes, Eric MacLauchlan and James Perrot of Stratford along with Blair MacLauchlan of Charlottetown.

Mike McGuigan scored a driving triple as he had a maiden breaking score of 2:03.3 aboard Howmac Margarita, a win with Gettin Messi in 2:00.1 and a neck decision with What A Babe in 1:59.4.
