Driver Dale Spence kicked off the Saturday afternoon program at Exhibition Park Raceway with a victory, and it turned out to be the first ever tally for the 18-year-old sulky sitter

.

Spence, who hails from Quispamsis, New Brunswick, hustled nine-year-old Climb The Ladder to the lead and the son of The Panderosa successfully chopped out splits of :30.1, 1:00.2 and 1:30.4 en route to a 2:02.3 decision for owner/trainer Kenneth Fudge of Saint John, NB.

It was just the fifteenth driving assignment for the rookie reinsman, who had come close to getting job done on a number of occasions prior to Saturday’s score.

Please join Standardbred Canada in offering congratulations to Dale on notching his first career victory.
