
Stash The Cookies was victorious in the Wednesday, June 4 installment of the $16,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred Pace as the bettors' choice in the featured race at at Century Downs.
Brandon Campbell left from the rail with Stash The Cookies, accepting the pocket spot behind Outlawguns N Roses (Mike Hennessy) through the quarter in :27.1 and half in :56.1. After the half-mile marker, Stash The Cookies made her move, pulling around Outlawguns N Roses to take command of the timer before the three-quarters in 1:24.3. Grey Sea (Kelly Hoerdt) gave heavy chase en route to the finish line, but Stash The Cookies prevailed by a half-length in 1:53.3. Beep Bop A Lula (David Kelly) rounded out the top three.
Stash The Cookies is a nine-year-old Sunfire Blue Chip-Saucy B mare trained by John Chappell and owned by Derek Gilbert of Brandon, Man.
