James Moore III's trotting mare NF Happenstance ($3.60, Jack Parker Jr.) tied the overall track record for trotters at Harrington Raceway on Wednesday.
The four-year-old SJs Caviar mare also broke her own North American season's mark on a half-mile track for four-year-old mares and tied the overall mark held by Kirty Dream.
NF Happenstance left alertly from post seven in the $17,000 Open Trot and made the front at the quarter-mile mark in :27.2. She proceeded to set fractions of :56 and 1:25.1 while pocket-sitting Traverse Seelster awaited the passing lane. Traverse Seelster fought gamely to the wire, but would be held at bay as NF Happenstance recorded her seventh win of the year in 1:54.1.
Trained by her driver, NF Happenstance boosted her seasonal earnings to nearly $70,000.
She broke her own four-year-old track record with the win.
Driver George Dennis had five wins on the program, following a three-win performance on Tuesday night. Victor Kirby and Tyler Davis each had a driving double.
