Horse Racing New Brunswick will be hosting a jam packed, action filled race card on Saturday afternoon at Exhibition Park Raceway in Saint John with a number of attractions.
First and foremost, Saturday is "Bring A Friend" to the races card as part of a national initiative to attract new fans to the sport of racing and the industry. Everyone involved in racing is being asked to bring in new people for the first time and there are a number of attractions. (Click here to register).
Among the activities will be a free BBQ, face painting, bouncy pony races, a play castle for the children, and more. There will also be betting vouchers for new fans who sign-up, as well as draws for rides in the starters gate and to accompany a trainer on a double-seated jog cart.
There will also be a tour of the barn area and the Saint John Harness Horseman's Association invites fans to stay after the live card for a night of entertainment.
Plus, there will be handicapping tips for newcomers, a planned seminar, and a chance to see California Chrome try and become the first thoroughbred Triple Crown winner in 35 years.
Fans will also have the chance to meet drivers and trainers.
This, and seven thrilling races, the fourth leg of the yearly handicapping challenge, and as always admission and parking are free. Join in the national challenge and bring a friend to the races on Saturday. Post time is 2 p.m.
