All Day Sunshine had to work hard for the early lead, but she drew off late for an easy victory in Thursday’s (June 3) feature at The Meadows, a $10,300 fillies and mares conditioned pace.
The 4-5 favourite battled from the start with Just Zip It, finally reaching the point before the quarter. From there, the four-year-old daughter of Sunshine Beach and Mustang Kensley was on cruise control for Mike Wilder, defeating Just Zip It by five lengths in 1:52.2 over a sloppy surface. Something Reel finished third.
Paul Corey trains All Day Sunshine, who lifted her career bankroll to $195,800, for Kenneth Ashba.
Wilder piloted three winners on the 13-race card, including a pair for Corey and Ashba.
Elsewhere on Thursday’s program, Amanda Shaw recorded the first training victory of her career when Onlythetuffsurvive won the fifth race. Shaw has a pretty healthy UTR — it was only her second career start.
Live racing at The Meadows continues Friday (June 4), when the 13-race card features a $3,156.20 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 12:45 p.m.
