Up The Ante prevailed in a four-horse finish to pull off a 13-1 upset in Inverness Raceway's featured Winners Over Pace on Sunday afternoon

Driven by Joseph Poirier, Up The Ante closed from second over to win the $1,000 top class by half a length in a career-best 1:59.3. Romanie Ranger (Ray Deagle) came in second with favourite Art I Special (Redmond Doucet) recovering from an early break and first over trip to get third while Mitchs Ceilidh (Alex MacNeil) finished three-quarters of a length behind in fourth after carving out fractions of :28.3, :57.4, and 1:28.2.
Up The Ante paid $29.50 to win. Local trainer Louis Beaton also co-owns the five-year-old Cams Card Shark gelding, who has won half of his four seasonal starts, with Anthony Beaton. Up The Ante is an eight-time winner with $14,249 earned in purses.
