Powertrain was an impressive winner in a time of 1:51.2 in his debut at Woodbine Mohawk Park on June 17, but it was his encore performance earlier this evening that will have people buzzing.
Unraced as a rookie, Powertrain made multiple moves in his Monday evening assignment at the Campbellville oval and wound up stopping the teletimer in a dazzling clocking of 1:49.3 for driver Louis-Philippe Roy and trainer Nick Gallucci.
Roy got away second with Powertrain while Mr Charisma shot to the front and laid down an opening quarter clocked in :27. Powertrain pulled the pocket in the backstretch and cleared, but he was quickly overtaken by Century Heineken who then paced past the half in :55.2.
Those two occupied the top two spots at the three-quarter pole in 1:22.4, but Powertrain pulled out of the two-hole once again and then used a :26.3 final frame to prevail by three-quarters of a length over Century Heineken. Mr Charisma was third.
